There has been a decrease in public service colleagues in identifying households as part of their daily work who would benefit from targeted provision through the Household Support Fund in terms of the potential provision of immediate food/fuel support.
Headlines are
- Households can be referred into receive urgent food/fuel support through completing the attached and submitting to wintergrants@bury.gov.uk – this should include a summary of discussions held with the household to understand their particular pressures including awareness of support available through www.bury.gov.uk/hardshiphelp which includes information on Healthy Start vouchers, pension credits etc
- People don’t have to be on any particular benefit/welfare support – but if they are that also doesn’t automatically prevent them from being considered for such funds
- The Household Support Fund can be used for the provision of essential white goods where for instance a cooker or fridge breaks and the person has no available funds to replace.
